In response to rising electricity rates, logistics costs, steel and raw material prices, TNSC has been revising the prices for industrial and medical gases since fiscal 2022. However, labor costs, logistics costs, and material expenses continue to increase. In particular, the shortage of personnel engaged in filling operations and delivery drivers who handle heavy, high pressure gas cylinders is serious. In addition, the enforcement of the Act on Ensuring Proper Transactions Involving Small and Medium-sized Entrusted Business Operators in January 2026 and the Logistics Efficiency Law in April 2026 is expected to further increase various costs related to cylinder gases.
Cylinder gas filling plants are required to ensure sufficient ventilation, airflow, and lightweight roof structures to comply with laws and regulations in accordance with gas characteristics. As these facilities are structurally prone to exposure to the outside air, efforts to improve the working environment for workers, including measures to address extreme heat, have been strengthened, and related capital investments have increased. Additionally, declining shipment volumes of cylinder gases due to the contraction of the domestic market have further increased the burden of fixed costs, such as filling facilities.
TNSC has made various efforts to ensure a stable supply, including the consolidation of filling plants and the rationalization of delivery operations. However, these efforts alone have made it difficult to absorb the current cost increases. Accordingly, we have decided to revise the prices of cylinder gases.
