Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Kenji Nagata), a Japanese industrial gas business company in the Nippon Sanso Holdings Group, and IMI Co., Ltd. (President: Takeshi Hayashi), a group company engaged in the import, sale, and rental of medical devices, have jointly developed the medical device remote monitoring system “RingWell.” This system is a cloudbased platform that enables real-time monitoring of the operating status of medical devices and patients’ vital information. In home healthcare settings, it provides essential information to healthcare professionals responsible for guidance and management, as well as to home service providers (distributors) who handle equipment installation, inspection, and emergency response, thereby supporting greater operational efficiency.

1. Overview of the RingWell System
The home healthcare devices monitored remotely through RingWell include oxygen concentrators, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, and ventilators supplied by IMI Co., Ltd. By installing a dedicated IoT gateway in the patient’s home alongside the relevant home healthcare devices, data can be collected from these devices via Bluetooth or USB communication. The collected data are stored on a cloud server via the Internet and can be viewed on the RingWell interface.
◆ At Medical Institutions
By using this system, medical institutions become eligible to claim the remote monitoring fee under the reimbursement scheme for home oxygen therapy.
Furthermore, at medical institutions, data from devices installed on-site (such as ventilators and pupilometers) can be integrated with electronic medical records and RingWell through “I-DM,” an inhospital medical device data linkage system developed together with RingWell. This integration is intended to enable effective data utilization and ensure prompt response in the event of an alarm.
◆ For Service Providers and the Taiyo Nippon Sanso Group
Service providers are able to check operating conditions in real time from PCs, tablets, or smartphones. This enables them to promptly identify the status of devices in response to patient inquiries and to provide accurate and timely support. Additionally, the system allows remote inspection of device operating conditions.
Through this system, we support the digital transformation (DX) of the operations of healthcare professionals and service providers, contributing to greater operational efficiency and enhanced service quality.
2. Future Development
Going forward, we will support the further promotion of DX in healthcare settings by adding new system functions and expanding the lineup of compatible medical devices.
