The downsizing of semiconductors is advancing in nanometer increments, while the size of home-use LCD TVs growing ever larger.
New electronics markets, e.g. mobile phones, digital household appliances and ICs for automobiles, are growing rapidly, calling for greater demand for higher product quality and manufacturing efficiency from the electronics industry. Responding to the demand of the industry, Taiyo Nippon Sanso installs Total Gas Centers (TGCs) on sites adjacent to customers’ semiconductor manufacturing plants. TGCs are outfitted with ultra-high-purity nitrogen manufacturing equipment and facilities that manufacture and supply material gases. This ensures a stable piped supply of high-quality nitrogen or various material gases for electronics on a 24-hour basis.
Taiyo Nippon Sanso offers total solutions to support the operations of its customers. These solutions include the construction of special piping that utilizes industrial gas supply technology for ultra-high-purity nitrogen or material gases, optimum placement of refining and exhaust gas abatement equipment to minimize impact on the environment, and the design of remote monitoring and safety alarm systems appropriate to the desired level of security.

World-class MOCVD equipment extensively installed worldwide
Taiyo Nippon Sanso was the first in the world to develop MOCVD equipment to produce compound semiconductors used in the liquid crystal displays (LCDs) of such products as mobile phones and car navigation systems, and in blue and white LEDs. This equipment is highly regarded worldwide for its exceptionally stable performance. Taiyo Nippon Sanso is the only company in the world that can provide a full range of services in this field, from the manufacture of MOCVD equipment, through the supply of electronics material gases, to exhaust gas abatement. Consequently, the Company has delivered a large quantity of MOCVD equipment worldwide for numerous applications, ranging from R&D to large systems for mass production.

Semiconductor and other manufacturing facilities use many kinds of material gases, and the quality and safety of these gases are of critical importance. Taiyo Nippon Sanso has revamped the conventional method of filling cylinders with gas under high pressure. It now uses a completely new method called Safe Delivery Source (SDS), in which an adsorbent is packed with a gas when the cylinder is filled.
SDS has dramatically improved safety while expanding by several tens of times the amount of gas that can be compressed into a cylinder. Taiyo Nippon Sanso is selling SDS exclusively on the global market.
Other innovative products include expandable cylinder cabinets in which various types and quantities of gases can be flexibly installed and changed.
