Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) / Environmental and Social Report 2013

We have long promoted a program of measures aimed at achieving specific environmental targets. In fiscal year 2012, we established new medium- to long-term targets, which we are striving to attain by implementing a broad range of ongoing, practical initiatives.

Companywide Environmental Targets

In fiscal year 1994, we laid out medium- to long-term initiatives with targets to be met by fiscal year 2011. In fiscal year 2007, we acquired integrated Companywide certification under ISO 14001, the International Organization for Standardization’s standard for environmental management. At that time, we added a new initiative—expanding sales of environment-friendly products—to our existing basic themes, which are to prevent global warming, promote the proper management of chemical substances and advance resource saving and recycling.

In fiscal year 2012, we established new medium- to long-term targets and identified the prevention of global warming as our single most important basic theme. We will also continue taking decisive steps to address our other basic themes.
