Environmental Accounting

Taiyo Nippon Sanso has adopted environmental accounting as a tool to quantitatively assess its efforts to preserve the environment. In FY2000, the Company tabulated the costs it would bear for its environmental measures on a trial basis, and in FY2001, the Company launched environmental accounting as a full-fledged commitment. From FY2002, the Company began measuring the return-on-investment effects of this commitment and started to aim for greater efficiency in its environmental activities. In tabulating its performance, Taiyo Nippon Sanso follows the “Environmental Accounting Guidelines 2005” issued by the Ministry of the Environment.

All Taiyo Nippon Sanso offices, 4 domestic affiliates ( Japan Fine Products Corp.; NS Engineering Co., Ltd.; Nissan Unyu Co., Ltd.; Thermos, Inc.), and gas production companies under the operation and management of Taiyo Nippon Sanso.
