The core business of the Taiyo Nippon Sanso group is production and supply of industrial gases and related equipment, activities which invariably entail a host of environmental burdens. The greatest of these is electricity consumed at our gas production plants, which, when converted to carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, accounts for 97% of emissions of the group as a whole.
The manufacturing processes used at our plants use electricity to work on the raw material of air, resulting in almost no emissions of water pollutants or atmospheric pollutants such as SOx or NOx. We are thus concerned most with reducing electricity usage, which accounts for the greatest portion of our environmental impact.
