- Inaugurated the Committee on the Global Environment → An advisory organ chaired by a board director in charge of environmental issues
- Drew up in-house Environmental Policies
1993
- Published the Nippon Sanso Voluntary Plan for Environmental Preservation → Company-wide environmental preservation measures based on medium-term and long-term policies and targets
- Committee renamed the Committee on the Environment
